Lake County's Supervisor of Elections

Tuesday, September 19 is National Voter Registration Day. This non-partisan civic holiday is a day of coordinated events to encourage Americans to get vote ready by registering to vote. Thousands of volunteers and organizations are working together to get communities ready to be at the polls for their next election.

No matter what party you support or what issues matter the most to you, this is a great opportunity to take that first step in exercising one of our most important civil rights as an American citizen--the right to vote. I want to encourage you to become civically engaged because your vote does matter.

If you are already a voter, take time to inspire others to register to vote by sharing why it's important to you. Help raise up the next generation of voters, your child, grandchild, niece, nephew, and even the neighborhood kid through role modeling and conversation. You won't regret sharing your election experiences.

Registering to vote has never been easier! Stop by our office at 1898 E. Burleigh Blvd., Tavares, register online at LakeVotes.gov/Register to vote, or attend a scheduled community outreach event.

Once you are registered to vote consider becoming an election worker. Learn more by selecting the Becoming an Election Worker tab at LakeVotes.gov.

Official Election Mail Sent to Lake County Voters

Recently official election mail was sent to some Lake County registered voters. This mailing included a Registration Application.

 

If you received this mailout, please take note of the following:

  • Recent legislative changes to Florida law now requires that our office verify voter identity for Vote-by-Mail requests or to make changes to your voter record by confirming the following:

    • Florida driver’s license number or

    • Florida ID number or

    • The last four numbers of your Social Security number

    • A recent inspection of voter records indicated that some voters were registered to vote before this information was required.

  • If YOU received our request to complete an application, it means that our office does not have any of the above identifiers on record to verify your identity should you request a Vote-by-Mail ballot or need to make a change to your voter record.​

 

  • The lack of a Florida driver’s license number, Florida ID number or the last four numbers of your Social Security number on your voter record DOES NOT impact your ability to vote.

We encourage voters to complete the application they received to update their voter record and return it to our office in the postage-paid envelope that was provided.

 

Should you like to make other changes to your voter record, such as address, party affiliation etc., you may do so on the same application.

    The Lake County Supervisor of Elections Office will be hosting an Outreach booth at Rocktoberfest on Saturday, October 14th from 11:00am-10:00pm in Wooten Park. Community members can stop by for a variety of voter services including registering to vote, renew for Vote-by-Mail, pick up the newest edition of the Voter Guide, get answers to elections related questions and more. We are looking forward to this incredible event and the opportunity to serve you!
