Tavares, FL - National Poll Worker Recruitment Day is Tuesday, September 1st and Lake County Supervisor of Elections, Alan Hays, is announcing a need for additional Election Workers to staff the polls during the November 3 General Election. Their office is hosting Election Worker Information Sessions in-person or virtually. Their website,, is the portal through which you may view the virtual session. The in-person sessions will be held on September 14th at 11:00 AM at the Supervisor of Elections office, 1898 E. Burleigh Blvd., Tavares, and on October 2nd at 2:00 PM in the Clermont Arts and Recreation Center on South US 27, Clermont.
“Becoming an election worker is a great way to get involved in the elections process, perform your civic duty, and earn a little cash,” commented Hays. There are over 100 precincts that must be staffed each election and we are continuously recruiting folks to serve. “We are fortunate to have many long-standing workers and appreciate their continued service. They did an excellent job serving voters in the Primary and we have every confidence that the General Election will run just as smoothly” Hays further elaborated. We are expecting increased voter turnout for the upcoming General Election and are ramping up our staffing to ensure our voters have a positive experience. We also have openings due to attrition and expanded polling locations as our county continues to grow. We also want to develop a strong reserve list if last-minute availability changes occur within our current team.
